January 21, 2010 - The U.S. Department of Labor has announced Oklahoma will receive a $6 million green-job grant to train workers in emerging industries such as energy efficiency and renewable energy. The goal is to train 1,000 workers in two years for jobs that pay above the state's per capita income. The award will target a broad spectrum including the unemployed, those working but who need green skills, and 18- to 24-year-olds. Information about the training in each section will be available throughout the state at Workforce Oklahoma locations.

February 9, 2010 -- The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department will hold five workshops - one each March through July -- across the state to assist communities, organizations and individuals in developing and improving their grant writing skills.
